(CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THIS TRACTOR BY THE FIRE AT THE TOM AND DOROTHY ZUMBAHLEN FARM TUESDAY MORNING)

Fire damaged a machine shed and implements at the Tom and Dorothy Zumbahlen farm north of Effingham along the Lillyville Road Tuesday morning.

No one was injured.

Sigel Fire Protection District Chief Jake Jansen said the fire was reported about 10am. Dorothy Zumbahlen said her husband was going to process some corn so had plugged the tractor in to get it warm. About 15 minutes later, Tom told her that the tractor was on fire.

There was some structural damage to the machine shed, but the building is still intact and likely can be repaired.

Teutopolis and Shumway firefighters assisted Sigel firefighters on scene. Effingham County Sheriff's Office and Rural Med EMS were also on hand.

The farm is located at 16871 1900th Avenue, east off US Route 45 on the way to the Lillyville church.

Sigel firefighters were on scene until about noon.
