Altamont Council Approves Fundraisers, Health Insurance

Altamont city council members approved two fundraisers at this week's meeting.

The Council okayed a Lions Club Candy Day roadside fundraiser, and a Trunk or Treat event on October 31 from 6 to 8pm for St. Paul ELCA Church on the North Main Street parking lot of S&W Supermarket.

Council members approved a payment of $19,925 to Hydro Kinetics for a monitor system at the south wastewater treatment plant, the first in a series of monitors to be installed. Also approved was a payment to Larry Heuerman for street maintenance rock application for $10,951.13, and the Council authorized spending up to $20,000 for the purchase of a pickup truck for the Street Department.

Altamont council members also approved the renewal of Blue Cross/Blue Shield employee health insurance coverage to include a 9.2% premium increase.
