Wednesday Morning Collision at Intersection of Route 128 and Highway 33

Two Herrick residents were airlifted from the scene after their vehicles collided just west of Beecher City on Wednesday morning.

Law enforcement reports that around 6 am yesterday, a vehicle driven by Joshua K. Lofland, 38, of Herrick, was southbound on Route 128, and attempted to turn east onto Highway 33. The Lofland vehicle crossed into the path of a northbound vehicle on Route 128, driven by 29-year-old Austin G. Miller, also of Herrick. This resulted in a head-on collision between both vehicles. Both drivers sustained injuries and were airlifted to Central Illinois hospitals. No one else was injured in the crash.

Lofland was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
