City Golf Cart Renewal Permits Available Today

Golf cart renewal permits for October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024 are being issued as of today at the Effingham Police Department.

A renewal application may only be used if the golf cart has already been registered with Effingham Police Department the prior year and still has all required safety features installed. A safety inspection for the golf cart is not required under the renewal application process.

Your application will not be approved until full payment is made in person at the police department and you have received your renewal sticker.

Renewal application and waiver can be downloaded online or obtained in person from the Effingham Police Department at 110 S. 3rd Street in Effingham, 62401. Submit your renewal in one of the following ways:

1) submit the online renewal at https://www.effinghamil.com/renew-a-golf-cart-permit/

2) email epd@effinghamil.com a copy of your completed golf cart renewal permit application, signed golf cart liability waiver, current copy of liability insurance policy, driver's license

In-person applications will be available as of today, September 29.
