One Person Fatally Injured in Fayette County Crash

One person has died of injuries received in a crash in Fayette County on Sunday night.

The person fatally injured was driving a SUV that collided with a pickup truck. The crash was reported shortly before 10pm on I-70 westbound near Brownstown.

Illinois State Police report the SUV driver lost control of the unit after the collision and rolled over several times, coming to a stop in the median. The driver of the SUV was airlifted to HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, where they died of their injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
