One Killed, One Injured in ATV Crash in Jasper County

One person was killed and one was injured in an ATV crash Saturday evening in Jasper County.

Illinois State Police report a side by side driven by 33-year-old Cody Mullins of Robinson was traveling on a rural road in Ste. Marie Township about 6pm Saturday when the crash occurred.

The side by side left the roadway to the right. Troopers say Mullins overcorrected and the vehicle turned over. Mullins and a passenger, 30-year-old Kendra Mihlfeld of Robinson, were both ejected from the vehicle. Mihlfeld was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Mullins was transported to an area hospital with what were termed minor injuries.

State police subsequently arrested Mullins on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
