Altamont school board members Monday adopted the budget for the new fiscal year.

The Board also heard from Shanda Teasley, advocating for homeschool students to participate in extracurricular activities, and from Sally Mayhaus and Anna Shadle on Pre-K and Project HELP programs at Altamont Grade School.

The Board approved expenses for members planning to attend the annual fall conference, and approved purchase of a Chrysler Pacifica van from A&H for $38,473.

Activities Director Katie Lurkins presented coaching recommendations, a Hudl update, and a sports boosters update. High School Principal Peggy Bueker reported a Club Fair. Maintenance Director Alan Whitt reported on used equipment to be placed for bid, high school landscaping, parking lot repairs, and a replacementair conditioning unit at the high school.

In personnel items, the Altamont board accepted resignations from Tony Hann as Drama Club sponsor, Bradley Ruholl as sixth grade basketball coach, and Steve Flood as full driver. Flood will still work as a part time and substitute driver.

The Board employed Mackenzie Florida as a paraprofessional at the high school, Lisa Endebrock as district nurse, Tony Hann as National Honor Society sponsor, Gus Koester as Drama Club sponsor, Rachael Hammer as high school assistant girls basketball coach, and Linda Reel as a part time custodian.

Board members agreed to allow FFA members to attend the National Conference in Indiana in November and the All-American Dairy Show in Pennsylvania in September.
