A Kentucky truck driver was found dead in the sleeper of his rig in Effingham Thursday afternoon.

62-year-old Richard Grubb of Manchester, Kentucky was not feeling well when he left Kansas City around 11am Thursday. When they arrived at Pilot Truck Stop in Effingham, Grubb's co-driver attempted to wake Grubb, but couldn't and he contacted 911 for assistance about 4:20pm.

Effingham city police and Rural Med EMS responded to the scene and found Grubb dead. He was pronounced dead by officials from the Effingham County Coroner's Office.

County Coroner Kim Rhodes said it appears Grubb's death is due to natural causes, but her office will continue an investigation. Next of kin were notified of Grubb's passing by the Manchester, Kentucky Police Department.

Effingham Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
