EIU's 10th Day Enrollment Reflects Growth

Eastern Illinois University got good news in its 10th day enrollment report, but overall enrollment is slightly down from a year ago.

The university saw a 15% increase in international enrollment, including 880 international students, the most ever, and students from 60 different nations.

Eastern saw continued growth in graduate education, including a 1% increase in enrollment from Fall 2022 to Fall 2023, to an all-time high of 1,955 students.

There was a 24% increase in freshman enrollment in the College of Education. The University also reported expanded partnerships with K-12 schools, local industry, and the State of Illinois.

However, the University's headcount for Fall 2023 is 8,804 students, compared to 8,857 last year.
