Effingham Park Board commissioners heard from representatives of Trophy Fitness at Wednesday's meeting.

Trophy Fitness is a Dallas-based company that manages facilities such as the Richard E. Workman Sports and Wellness Complex. Park District Director Jeff Althoff said the firm would like to be considered in case the Park Board is ever considering changing managers.

Meanwhile, Althoff said they are receiving applications for their Administrative Assistant and Office Manager position. Nina Jackson has retired from the position after 22 years on the job.

The Board voted to realign the duties of the Park District Director and Treasurer. The treasurer currently does all of the financials; under the change, Althoff would pay the bills and the treasurer would check his work. Althoff said it's a way to have a couple of individuals involved in the process.

Althoff reported on soccer and flag football activity, as well as getting ready to winterize the Kluthe Pool.
