North Clay School Board Handles Several Personnel Moves

North Clay school board members approved two donations at this month's meeting; one to the high school baseball team for uniforms, and one to the athletic department for video streaming services.

Board members heard of new academic offerings at the high school this year including Spanish I, II and III, Journalism, World Geography, and Applied Math. It was also noted that students will be able to take a few more classes for dual credit this year.

The Board approved a tentative fiscal year budget with adoption expected at the September 27th meeting.

There were several personnel matters addressed. Those included the resignation of Marilou Santos as a high school English teacher; hiring Noah Barnard as a high school Math teacher, high school Scholar Bowl coach, and Sophomore Class sponsor; hiring Paige Reese as high school English teacher; hiring Jessica Bell as junior high English teacher; approving dock days for Jessica Bell; hiring Jim Farleigh and Bailey Burdine as permanent substitutes for the school year; hiring Devin Hilfirty and Morgan Cox as Freshman class sponsors; accepted the resignation of Genay Sparlin as head cook and hiring Tammy Yingst as head cook; and hiring Billy Coble as director of buildings and grounds.
