U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) released the following statement regarding the indictment of former President Donald J. Trump in Fulton County, Georgia:

"Donald Trump, the leading challenger for the 2024 election, was marched by a Democrat District Attorney into Fulton County Jail, a facility that's under investigation for violence and poor sanitary conditions. I stand with Donald Trump because we simply cannot accept the politically-motivated weaponization of our justice system. Democrats want to talk about election interference? Local St. Rep. Adam Niemerg released a statement regarding the conviction of former House Speaker Michael Madigan's Chief of State Tim Mapes Thursday:

“We are now up to five Madigan associates, allies, and lobbyists who have been convicted of criminal activity connected to the ComEd bribery scheme. This obstruction of justice by Tim Mapes shows how far the Madigan organization is willing to go to protect the former Speaker. I continue to call on the Democrats in the House to allow real reforms to fight corruption to be heard and voted upon.”
