The Effingham Public Library has reconnected with some past library patrons.

Library Director Amanda McKay said that as part of their targeted marketing campaign, cards were sent to those who have a library card, but haven't used it recently. 1,500 cards were sent. McKay said that 97 of those contacted have re-engaged with the library.

The library board also completed an update of their policy regarding the Open Meetings Act. The update concerns remote attendance at public meetings and addresses a child care related emergency for a board member.

The Board discussed a proposal on video monitoring from Magoo and Associates. The proposal concerns added security on the exterior of the library building. No action was taken at this time. Board members will finish work on their video policy, and the matter of added video security will likely be revisited in the spring.
