Plans are being finalized by the Effingham County Right to Life Committee for their 39th Annual Day of Prayer to be held in St. Francis Catholic Church on Main Street in Teutopolis on Wednesday, June 19.
The purpose of the day is to make reparation to God for the abortions performed in the US since the legalization of abortion in 1973.
The day is open to all faiths that respect life. Mass is scheduled at 8am, followed by continuous prayer throughout the day until the 7:30pm closing Mass with Reverend David Hoefler, pastor of St. Anthony and Sacred Heart parishes in Effingham and St. Mary's Parish in Shumway as celebrant and homilist.
A reception will be held after the closing Mass in St. Clare Hall, adjoining the church, for everyone who wishes to speak to Father Hoefler. Refreshments will be served.
