Quite a double header at the Effingham County Fair on Friday night.

Teutopolis native Dakota Danielle and Nashville hitmaker Chris Janson entertained a big crowd.

Dakota...who was raised Dakota Esker...was the opening act, setting the stage for Janson, who is a southeast Missouri native with ties to southern Illinois.

Friday was a busy day for Janson, who performed for a veterans event in Nashville before flying here for the performance at the fairgrounds at Altamont. Janson's high-energy show featuring stylish guitar playing gave way for a portion of his performance accompanying himself at the piano. Janson performed more than a dozen songs including "21 Forever", which is a vocal duet with the legendary Dolly Parton featuring a guitar solo by Slash from "Guns N Roses".

The fair closed Saturday with a variety of attractions including the traditional fair-ended, the Demolition Derby.

A reminder that Emma Beckman will have one more report this morning on 4-H winners at this year's fair. That report will air about 8:45am on KJ County 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com
