Coker Sentenced to Prison for Criminal Sexual Assault

A Mississippi man has been sentenced in Effingham County Circuit Court to prison on a count of criminal sexual assault.

21-year-old Nathaniel Coker pleaded guilty to assaulting a girl who was 12 years old at the time of the incident in January of 2022. Judge Allan Lolie Tuesday sentenced Coker to 15 years in prison. Effingham County State's Attorney Aaron Jones said the sentence was the maximum possible on the charge. Coker also will be placed on three years to lifetime mandatory supervised release once out of prison. He must also register as a lifetime sexual offender. 

Coker will be given credit for the time he has served in jail since his arrest.
