An Effingham resident has received prison after pleading guilty to a forgery charge.

25-year-old Anthony M. Jamison was sentenced to five years in prison. The forgery count involved counterfeit currency.

Jamison had a series of other counts dismissed as part of his plea, including some related to drugs. He agreed to make restitution for the funds that he stole, and must also pay fines.
