The EffingHAM-JAM is set for this evening in downtown Effingham, featuring food, music and fun.

Things will begin at 5pm with a variety of food trucks, vendors and a beer tent.

There will be a preview of Saturday's Ham City Jam along Washington Avenue tonight beginning at 5pm. Also, JT's Tree and Crane Monster Truck will be downtown, along with a City of Effingham fire truck and a Wonkey Donkey Safari Jeep.

The Hometown Throwdown will begin at 5:30pm with judging and tastings. Teams of amateur barbecue enthusiasts compete for John Boos and Company trophies and a $250 cash prize for the Grand Champion.

The music will be provided by The Troubadors from 5:30-6:30pm and by Nashville-based Loose Lips featuring Effingham native Myles Baker from 7-10:30pm.

There will also be tickets available for a chance to win a John Boos and Company cherry homestead block island and a gas grill donated by The Equity.

A reminder to hear live reports from Tonya and Greg as they will be broadcasting live from downtown from 4-6pm today to set the stage for tonight's HAM-JAM on Classic Hits 979XFM and KJ Country 102.3FM.
