35 area youth, ages 8 to 17, have been participating since June 10 in a Summer Youth Theater Camp at Effingham Performance Center. The campers have been exposed to a drama curriculum of focus, voice and diction, improvisation, character study, musical theater and movement.
Students will showcase their learning and achievement with performances of six short plays about growing up on Thursday, June 20th at 7:00 p.m. at the Effingham Performance Center. There is no admission charge, and the showcase is open to the public.
Effingham Performance Center is operated by Arts Connection of Central Illinois, a not-for-profit organization, which has been established for the citizens of Effingham County and beyond to showcase arts and entertainment, to encourage interaction with and appreciation of live performance, to endorse the educational process and to enhance the quality of life and cultural vitality of the region.
