Car Hauler Fire West of Effingham on I-70

Firefighters were called to I-70 Eastbound shortly after 4am today. A car hauler caught fire. 

The fire occurred at Mile Marker 91 between Altamont and Effingham. Effingham Assistant Fire Chief Matt Kulesza said the car hauler had six vehicles on board. Only one eastbound lane was open as of 6:15am.

Shumway and Watson firefighters assisted at the scene. The fire rekindled just before 6:30am, but firefighters quickly got the fire back out. No injuries were reported.
