Altamont city council have announced an estimated appropriation of funds for the fiscal year totaling $8,794,273. The total is a reduction of $51,000 from the previous fiscal year.

Council members heard from Larry Taylor, the city's representative to the Illinois Municipal Electric Association. Taylor reported that businesses can apply for funds for electrical projects. The City used the program last year for LED lighting at local sports fields. Another option could be funding for electric vehicle charging stations.

The Council approved a special use liquor license for the annual Wright Mansion Wine Tasting Event. This year's event is scheduled for September 16. Also approved was construction engineering work by Milano and Grunloh on a sidewalk project on 3rd Street for $7,800.

The Altamont council also discussed a GPS system upgrade to aid the City in its mapping process.
