Names Released of Those Killed in Wednesday Morning Crash Near Highland

The Illinois State Police today released additional information on an early morning crash Wednesday near Highland that resulted in three fatalities.

Those killed in the crash were Juan Vasquez-Rodriguez, 34, from Passaic, New Jersey; Buford Paya, 71, of Supai, Arizona; and Bradley Donovan, 47, of Springfield. 

The crash happened just before 2am and involved a Greyhound passenger bus and three commercial motor vehicles on I-70 Westbound near the entrance ramp to the Silver Lake Rest Area. I-70 Westbound lanes were shut down by first responders to transport injured patients to area hospitals, but were reopened around 7:45am. 

More than a dozen passengers are now reported as having been injured and required transport to area hospitals. First information indicated there were 14 persons injured.
