2023 Relay for Life Set for Friday Night

The Effingham County Relay for Life is set for Friday night.

Relay will begin at 4pm and continue until 11pm at Teutopolis Junior High School. The event is held each year to benefit the battle against cancer.

This year's Relay theme is "Ho, Ho, Hoping for a Cure".

Fundraising tents and food trucks will open at 4pm.

The opening ceremony will begin at 5pm. That will include an invocation, a color guard made up of members of Effingham VFW Post #1769, Effingham American Legion Post #120, and Effingham DAV Chapter #7, Survivor Speaker Jodi Waymoth, and Caregiver Speaker and Miss Effingham County Fair Queen Anna Carrell.

6:45pm--Cayla's Stars Dance

7pm--Baby Miss/Lilttle Miss/Junior Miss Relay Pageant

7:30pm--Entertainment by Sentimental Journey Quartet

8pm--Luminaria Sales End

8:30pm--Remembrance Ceremony

9pm--Luminaria Ceremony

11pm--Closing Ceremony
