North Clay school board members heard at their June meeting about the success of their FFA members.

Hannah Kramer-McKinney was a state FFA band member, Jennifer Fulk received her American Degree, Ananiah Barbee, Ellie Fleener and Paris VanDyke all received their State FFA Degrees, the North Clay FFA Alumni was recognized for a $1,000 donation to the Illinois FFA Foundation and for recognition as a Silver Emblem Chapter, and Sierra Payne and Paris VanDyke were both delegates.

The Board also recognized Aiden Hardiek as a North Clay graduate who signed with Boilermakers Local #363. Aiden is the son of Bill Hardiek and the late LeAnn Schroeder Hardiek.

The North Clay board approved the amended budget for the just-ended fiscal year; renewed coverage with Snedeker Insurance; renewed membership in the Illinois Association of School Boards for the new fiscal year; and discussed changes in the athletic handbook but took no action on the matter.

Board members set the salary for the district treasurer; hired Cameron Crays as a full time substitute elementary teacher for the coming school year, hired Brandon Repking as assistant high school baseball coach for the coming school year, authorized the hiring of two full time teacher substitutes for the coming school year, authorized the administration to fill open high school teaching positions for the coming school year, and accepted the resignation of Gary Wolfe as substitute bus driver.
