Effingham County 911 board members Tuesday heard that plans are moving ahead for a network of communication towers for fire departments.

911 Board Vice-Chairman Jake Buhnerkempe said that, at last report, there were still a couple of departments to hear from as far as signing off on the agreement. Buhnerkempe said items needed for the communication system have been ordered.

The 911 Board also approved the cost of console cleaning at the two PSAP stations, at a cost of $3,150.
