A Louisville woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash in the south part of Effingham County on Wednesday afternoon.

85-year-old Darlene Garrett was traveling on 1900th Street, a third of a mile north of 100th Avenue, just south of Eberle, when the crash happened just before 2:30pm. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports Garrett began to lose control of the car, which ran off the roadway to the left. Deputies say the car came back onto the roadway, then ran back off the roadway to the left. The vehicle then struck a ditch embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on the driver's side. Dieterich and Teutopolis firefighters were called to the scene to extricate Garrett from the vehicle.

Garrett was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

There were no citations issued.
