The Effingham City Plan Commission Tuesday gave the okay to a site plan for an extended stay facility on the city's busy northwest side.

A Home2 Suites by Hilton is to be built at 1201 North Raney Street, directly south of Top Shelf Liquors. Effingham City Engineer Luke Thoele said it will be a four-story, 97-unit facility.

Commissioners also approved a plat for two lots to be developed into four lots on the northwest corner of Grove and Mulberry. The sites will be developed with attached single family dwellings.

The commisioners also approved a plat of the second addition to Voyles-Utz Subdivision along North 4th Street. The one lot will be developed as two lots. One lot will house the Utz and Associates Architects and Voyles buildings, while the lot to the south will be developed with multi-family dwellings.
