Dieterich Board Timeline on Construction Project

Dieterich school board members got an update Monday night on progress on the additions to the school complex.

This is the timeline received from Superintendent Cary Jackson:

--ball field concrete/drainage prior to 4th of July

--bathroom renovations 1st week of August

--gym lobby Labor Day

--south classroom addition (Science Lab) Thanksgiving

--elementary classroom/restroom addition December 22

--north classroom addition March/April 2024

The Board approved the amended budget for the current fiscal year, and also approved insurance coverage, including health insurance renewed by Egyptian Trust/Blue Cross Blue Shield at an increase of 3% over last year's premiums; property/casualty/liability renewed with Prairie State Insurance Cooperative at a 12% increase over last year's premium; workers compensation awarded to Gallager Insurance/Employer's Preferred Insurance Company at 2% lower than last year's premium

Board members heard from Junior-Senior High School Principal Scott Kocher that Dieterich Junior High School was awarded the IESA Division N Sportsmanship Award for the school year. The district was reported to have no ejections or reports of unsportsmanlike conduct this school year. The Board also declared two buses as surplus property and to sell them through sealed bids.

The Dieterich Board granted the support staff and principals a 5.75% pay increase for the upcoming school year. Resignations were accepted from Jessica Mette and Haley Veach as aides and from Clayton Campton as assistant high school baseball coach. Those hired were Toni Zumbahlen as Kindergarten teacher for the coming school year and Colton Booher as junior high assistant boys basketball coach for the coming school year.
