Cumberland school board members have acquired an elementary reading curriculum for a three-year term.

The new curriculum is Amplify CKLA.

The Board also approved the Neal Center YMCA transportation request for the 2023 YMCA sumer program field trips. The Neal Center will reimburse 100% of fuel costs and the driver salaries to the Cumberland school district. The Board also voted to approve primary playground repairs, with Neco Aspalt paving 10,000 square feet of blacktop at a cost of $39,040.

Following a closed session, Cumberland board members employed Jenna Young as middle school cheerleading coach, Monica Carl as middle school cross country coach, Brandon Shaon as a high school boys basketball assistant coach, Kendra Heinbaugh as middle school softball head coach, Marcus Millsap as middle school softball assistant coach, Jacob Venatta as high school Industrial Arts teacher, and Sarah Flessner as district speech and language pathologist.

The Board accepted the resignation of Jessi Allison as high school assistant softball coach, and from Kari Shoemaker as assistant girls middle school track coach.

Board members approved the fee schedule for the coming school year, and approved student handbook updates and revisions.
