Strong winds tore a building housing 300 head of cattle off its piers Monday morning at the Hartke Swine Center.

The incident occurred about 7:30am. Phil Hartke said no one was injured and said that the cattle are alright. He said they've been working to find a temporary home for the cattle, saying some vacant dairy cattle barns are housing some of them.

The farm is located south and east of Teutopolis. Hartke said no other buildings were damaged.

Hartke some of the piers of the structure were bent or broken. A third of the building is upside down.

The structure is about 10 years old.
