Cumberland school board members elected officers for their next term.

Wes Chambers will be the board president, Ben Bland will be vice president, and Beth Reeder will be board secretary.

End of year dates were established. Baccalaureate will be May 14 at 5pm at Toledo Christian Church, with high school graduation on May 21 at 2pm.

Several improvement projects were approved, including replacement of the middle school gym ductwork, replacement of the grade school cafeteria and office lighting and suspended ceiling, purchasing and installation of classroom bookshelves through Stevens Industries of Teutopolis, the building of sidewalks around the middle school gym, and the replacement of the southwest blacktop with 4-1/2" inches of asphalt by NECO Asphalt.

In personnel moves, the Cumberland board employed Jami Holsapple as grade school head cook for the coming school year, Audrey Kreke as an elementary teacher, Caroline Kirchmer as head high school volleyball coach, and Krista Buie as high school cheerleading coach. The Board also accepted the resignations of middle school assistant softball coach Wade Bradley, Tyler Owen, Jennifer Lawson, Greg Boldt as a high school assistant boys basketball coach, and the retirement of Jill Mathenia.
