4th Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Douglas Jarman has taken the issues raised in a Thursday hearing regarding the state's assault weapons ban under advisement.

In a written entry filed Friday, Judge Jarman said that all of the issues discussed during the Thursday Zoom hearing will be considered before he issues any order.

The case originated in January when Accuracy Firearms of Effingham obtained a Temporary Restraining Order against having to comply with the ban. Another 900 co-plaintiffs were also exempted from having to comply with the measure.

Attorneys for Governor Pritzker, Attorney General Raoul, Senate President Harmon and House Speaker Welch have all filed motions for the case to be dismissed, as have other parties. Similar suits have been filed elsewhere, and the case has made its way into Federal court where the ban is back in effect.

During the Thursday hearing, a motion from the governor's attorney to dismiss the suit, and motions to quash a subpoena and to seek a protective order were all taken under advisement by Judge Jarman.

The judge also wrote that he would set a date for a status hearing in the case when he files his written order.
