Altamont city council members have finalized a three-year contract agreement with the local representing Altamont police officers.

The agreement between the Council and the Illinois Council of Police local calls for a $2/hour increase for the coming fiscal year, and $1/hour increases in each of the following two years. The agreement also gives officers New Year's Eve off, and an additional 24 hours of personal leave time.

The Council Monday also approved a TIF payment of $10,000 to Eric and Valerie Behl for roof replacement work on their Cuts By Us building downtown.

Also approved was a request by Altamont Masonic Lodge to allow a Memorial Day parade to be held this year on Monday, May 29.
