Damage Kept to a Minimum from Fire at Holy Cross Church

Fire did damage at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin Monday, but quick action by area firefighters kept the damage to a minimum.

The fire is believed to have started in the area of the choir loft. There are reports that flames were coming out of a window when firefighters reached the scene. Photos from the scene indicate that there was minimal exterior damage.

Fire companies from Olney, Clay City, Flora, North Clay, Dieterich and Xenia were all on scene at one point.
