Rotary Week 2023 has officially been proclaimed in Effingham City and Effingham County.

Rotary Week will be observed April 24-29 by the Effingham Sunrise and Noon Rotary Clubs.

Rotary International is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary Club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio (we're THIS close) under the motto Service Above Self.

Beneath that general umbrella of what Rotary is about are Five Avenues of Service. Rotarians and their local clubs have the option of pursuing work in each or all of those avenues. The Five Avenues of Service are Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service, and New Generations Service.

Noon Rotary meets at 12:15pm Wednesdays, while Sunrise Rotary meets at 7am Tuesdays. Both of the clubs meet in the lower level of First Baptist Church in Effingham.
