South Central school board members this week voted to sell up to $3 million in alternate revenue bonds.

The proceeds from the bond sale will be used to pay for renovation work at South Central Middle School, with the payments on the bonds to be made by proceeds from the 1% sales tax realized from the portion of the school district in Marion County.

The Board renewed a cooperative agreement with St. Peter Lutheran School for the coming two school years, approved a recommendation from Superintendent Kerry Herdes to not charge South Central students any admission fee to attend games in the district in the coming school year, granted Herdes permission to amend the budget for this school year, accepted the resignation from Courtney Roth as a certified staff member, Student Council sponsor, junior class sponsor, and assistant volleyball coach and middle school volleyball coach at the end of the school year. The Board also accepted Jessica Phillips' resignation as a certified staff member as of the end of the school year, approved Aimee Moore as middle school Scholar Bowl coach, approved a leave for Jane Miller beginning May 16, and hired Danielle Chasteen and Kara Schukar as fulltime certified staff members for the coming school year.
