Altamont Girl Faring Well in Rodeo Competition

Mia Totten, 11-year-old daughter of Ty and Mandy Totten of Altamont, competed in the Midwest Youth Rodeo Series in Cloverdale, Indiana.

There were six rodeos over the past four months in the series. Mia competes in the Junior Girls Division (Ages 9-13) in the areas of Barrel Racing, Goat Tying, Breakway Roping, Ribbon Roping, Flag Racing and Trail Course. Mia competed alongside more than 40 very talented young ladies across the Midwest. At the conclusion of the rodeo series, an awards ceremony is held for all individuals that earned Top 6 in each of their divisions, and the Top 4 All-Around Cowgirls are named.

Mia, alongside her horses Tommy & Gonzo, earned Champion Trail, Reserve Champion Ribbon Roping, Reserve Champion Flag Racing, 3rd Place Overall in Barrel Racing, 5th Place Overall in Goat Tying and earned 3rd Place in the coveted All-Around Cowgirl title race.

Mia will now continue her journey to the National Finals Rodeo held in Guthrie, Oklahoma July 3 - July 8, 2023.
