North Clay School Board Meets for February Session

North Clay school board members heard at this week's meeting about a group of students who attended the State Ground Zero Leadership Conference on the campus of SIU-Carbondale.

The students were challenged by the State FFA Officers and the facilitator of the conference to grow as leaders.

Board members also heard of the success of Shooter McKinney, a competitor in a local Math competition, who finished third individually. He will compete at the state competition in Skokie on March 4th.

The North Clay Board set end-of-year dates. High school graduation will take place on May 7, with Baccalaureate at 2pm and graduation at 3pm. 8th Grade Graduation wil be held on May 9 at 6:30pm. Both ceremonies will take place at the high school.

The North Clay board accepted the resignation of Kali Carroll as junior high Cheer sponsor, approved Ben Farleigh as a mentor, hired Dustin Smith as a junior high girls track coach, Adam Frederick as a junior high boys track coach, and Julie Koelm as high school track coach, rehired all administrators and the tech coordinator next school year, hired Morgan Cox as a high school Business/Tech/Media teacher for the coming school year, and authorized the administration to hire an elementary teacher for the coming school year.
