Turkey Harvest Down in 21-22 from Previous Season

Hunters in Illinois harvested a statewide total of 683 wild turkeys during the 2021-2022 fall archery turkey season.

There were eight turkeys harvested this past season in Effingham County, down from 11 in 20-21. 

The total compares with a statewide turkey harvest of 783 during the 2020-2021 season. 

Other area county totals:

Clay--12, down from 16 the year before

Cumberland--three, the same as the previous year

Fayette--11, up from nine the previous year

Jasper--seven, up from five the previous year

Shelby--five, down from 10 turkeys the previous season
