Altamont Board Sets 2023 Graduation Date

Altamont school board members Monday set the date for high school graduation as Saturday, May 20th at 5pm. 

Board members discussed potential summer work including the track at the grade school and a basement abatement project at the high school. The Board approved an intergovernmental agreement for girls track, approved agreements with the Regional Office of Education for regional safe school programs and for the alternative high school for the coming school year.

The Board agreed to seek bids on the sale of a used mower, and okayed a senior class trip to Washington, DC. 

Board members accepted the resignation of Eric Heiden as 8th grade boys basketball coach, and a teacher resignation of Kacy Perry. Both resignations are effective as of the end of this school year.

The Board heard that eight ACHS students competed in an academic program known as ACES. More than 300 students were involved in the competition. Altamont's team took sixth place, and student Logan Cornett finished second in Biology Division.
