Two Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision in Coles County

Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision in Coles County Monday morning.

The crash happened at 5:30am on Illinois Route 130, south of Charleston. 

Illinois State Police report a northbound SUV driven by a 50-year-old Fairfield man crossed the center line and struck a southbound car driven by 47-year-old Micah Morrison of Mattoon. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers. 

The highway was closed for approximately four hours during the crash investigation.
