Altamont City Council members Tuesday voted to sell a portion of a lot that was to be included in South Pointe Subdivision. A neighbor wanted to purchase a portion of the lot, so Council members agreed to remove the lot from the subdivision plat and to sell a portion of that lot to the neighbor.

The Council approved an agreement with IDOT. The agreement is projected to cost $207,505. The City will install water main steel casing under an abandoned railroad overpass, then will be reimbursed by IDOT for the cost of the work.

Council members also approved a contract with Korte and Luitjohan for installation of water main replacement for $137,470 along 5th Street and 900th Avenue, and agreed to buy easements to make way for installation of the water main. The Council also paid Larry Heuerman for street oiling for just over $23,000.
