Stewardson-Strasburg school board members heard from Superintendent Justin Deters at this week's meeting that the District's state maintenance grant has been approved.

Deters said the $50,000 will be used to purchase new windows in the high school building.

Board members also passed the fiscal year tax levy, and discussed a sound system upgrade for the high school gym. The Board heard from high school principal Cody McCollum about a plan to help interested students become licensed athletic officials.

Grade school Dean of Students Penny Hill told the Board about efforts by local groups, organizations and the school to work together this Christmas season to help families in need.

In personnel moves, the Stew-Stras board accepted the resignation of Jason Vonderheide as junior high assistant baseball coach, and of Nick Niemerg as junior high girls' basketball coach.
