Three Killed in Marion County Crash Saturday

Three people were killed when a pickup truck collided with a semi near Salem Saturday morning.

The three people killed were the driver of the pickup truck, a 28-year-old man from St. Louis, and two passengers in the pickup, both 25-year-old men from St. Louis. A third passenger, a 28-year-old man from St. Louis, was injured and was airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Illinois State Police report that the pickup truck, for unknown reasons, crossed the centerline of US Route 50, just west of Radio Tower Road in Marion County just after 7am Saturday. The pickup struck the front of the semi, which was driven by 25-year-old Thomas Guinn of Burkburnett, Texas. 

Guinn was not injured. 

The names of those traveling in the pickup truck were not made available by state police.
