Friday Filings for the 2023 Election

Several more filings for various elective offices have been seen on Friday in the county.

A newcomer has filed for commissioner on the Effingham City Council. He is Dustin Brown. He joins incumbent commissioners Larry Micenheimer and Hank Stephens and incumbent Mayor Mike Schutzbach as candidates who have filed.

In Altamont, two incumbent commissioners have filed for another term. They are Tayler Polk and Mike Walker.

As far as school board races, incumbent Jill Wendling has filed for another term on the Effingham Unit 40 board, David Doty has filed for another term on the Beecher City Unit 20 board, and Anita Bierman has filed for another term on the Dieterich Unit 30 board.

There were no additional filings Friday for the Lake Land College Board of Trustees.

The deadline to file to run in the April 2023 election is Monday, the 19th, at 5pm.
