Work is progressing on the Evergreen Bark Park at Evergreen Hollow Park.

Park District Director Jeff Althoff said most of the fencing should be in place by week's end. Althoff said some concrete paving will be necessary and hopes that will be undertaken in the next couple of weeks. City workers are to help park district crews with the concrete work.

The park board agreed to approve changes in the Effingham/Effingham County Enterprise Zone guidelines. The changes address abatements for residential projects.

The Board also reviewed the proposed tax levy for the coming fiscal year. The park district will receive increased revenues due to the end of a tax increment financing district, so some of the levies will be reduced. The levy will not be 5% or more above what was extended for taxes last year, so a Truth in Taxation hearing will not be necessary.
