A local man was arrested Friday morning in Effingham on a Federal warrant charging various drug offenses.

28-year-old Justin Pocrnich of Wheeler was taken into custody by Illinois State Police at a residence on Linden Street in Effingham.  The Federal warrant charges one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine as well as seven counts of possession of meth manufacturing materials.

Effingham Police Chief Mike Schutzbach said State Police asked his department to assist in the arrest since Pocrnich was also wanted on a local charge of escape.  The local charge alleges Pocrnich failed to return from a furlough allowed by the Court for a drug evaluation.

Pocrnich was being held Friday afternoon in Effingham County Jail.
