North Clay school board members got an update on Homecoming at this week's meeting.

The Homecoming Dance was held last Saturday night with a theme, "On Cloud 9". The Homecoming King and Queen are Enoch McCrary and Marissa Jones.

The high school gym doors have a new look, now wrapped with graphics including a NC and a Cardinal logo. There is a section of the old high school gym floor with a Cardinal bird now hanging in the high school gym. The section was refinished, framed and mounted with help from the Industrial Arts students. Also, now hanging proudly in the NCHS gym is a new banner recognizing the North Clay state champion baseball team. Students in the Construction Trades class are making progress on a trophy case that will hold all of the 2022 state champion baseball team trophies and plaques.

The Ag Mechanics class and the Welding class are in the process of building a metal nine-square playground project that is being funded by the Louisville Rotary Club.

In action items, the North Clay board approved the tentative tax levy and set a December 21 hearing on the final levy, then also approved the school district's report cards from the State.

In personnel items, the Board accepted the resignation of Lacey Sowers, but retained her as a substitute. The Board also approved an unpaid leave of absence for Katrina VanDyke for five days in January; accepted the resignation of Belinda Bridges as head cook as of this week; authorized the Administration to fill all open positions in the kitchen and two open paraprofessional positions; and approved Aaron Kincaid as volunteer 5th and 6th grade boys basketball coach for this school year.
