Teutopolis School Board Covers Several Subjects

Among several things covered by the Teutopolis School Board approved an Intergovernmental Agreement with Dieterich for bookkeeping services as necessary. The Board also approved the School Maintenance Grant FY23 and plan to apply matching grant funds to continue the High School Tuckpointing project started in 2022. The Board approved contracts for facility improvement including the grade school roof replacement bid awarded to LJ Swingler Construction and the Junior High bleacher concrete proposal awarded to Pruemer Concrete and Construction.

The Board authorized the Superintendent and the Maintenance/Grounds Director to collaborate with the Teutopolis Park District to conduct facility improvement work, including but not limited to tree removal, fence relocation, sidewalk relocation, and scoreboard relocation at the north softball diamond with reimbursement to the Park District for costs incurred not to exceed $30,000. Laser grading and adding of surface material to the north diamond of Teutopolis Park District, and adding of surface material to the diamond located at the high school was also approved.

The Board accepted a proposal from Midwest Transit Equipment to purchase two 2018, 71-passenger school buses and authorized the Superintendent and Transportation Director to release as surplus property the two oldest high-mileage buses within the transportation fleet.

The Board authorized the Superintendent and Transportation Director to purchase a used minivan through Effingham Auto Mall and release as surplus property the 2008 Impala.

In Personel moves the Board accepted an irrevocable resignation from Rachel Habing as THS Track Assistant, the irrevocable letter of intent to retire from Connie Deters, effective at the end of the 2025-26 school year.

The Board hired Gavin Tegeler and Joseph Niebrugge as High School Kitchen Student Workers for the 2022-23 school year and Justin Fleener as the TJHS Assistant Basketball Coach.
