Plans have been announced for Friday's Veterans Day observance in Effingham. The ceremony will begin at 10:30am at the Effingham County Veterans Memorial on the lawn of the County Courthouse Museum in downtown Effingham.

Effingham DAV Chapter #7 and Ladies Auxiliary Unit 7 will host the observance.

DAV Commander Dave Althoff will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

St. John's Lutheran Church Pastor Reverend Mike Burdick will offer the invocation and will deliver the benediction.

Charlie and Bob McWhorter will oversee the Raising of the Colors, and Patrick and Julie Zuber will present the National Anthem.

Our Greg Sapp will serve as the guest speaker, and the Elks Lodge will make a donation.

Bill Copple will serve as Sergeant at Arms for the 21-gun salute, and Matt Stead will presend "Taps".

A meal will be served at the DAV Club Room at 405 Vulcan Drive following the ceremony.
